Floyd Mayweather Jr was booed by fans who. in the 12th round on Saturday night at the MGM Grand should really be ashamed of themselves. With Mayweather keeping a considerable lead in the scorecards against Robert Guerrero, he did what he'd done all fight: execute his style of boxing, that will be mixing old safety with counterpunching. Yet some wanted blood. They wanted Mayweather to hit out Guerrero, who was carefully outclassed in the fight. Well, many people are missing the purpose. Firstly all, there's no basis for Mayweather to risk his undefeated record by the attack all of a sudden opening himself up. That will be a stupid move and his intelligence that is frankly, insulted by one, in the ring. Secondly, by unnecessarily criticizing Mayweather for not knocking someone out, you're insulting his design of boxing. I understand people wish to see knockouts, but someone can not be insulted by you for being one of the best defensive boxers in the history of the game. What Mayweather is doing is old. His safety is historic. We must be praising him for that in the place of criticizing him. You wish to boo someone? Boo Guerrero, or boo any boxer who has experienced Mayweather during his career and maybe not required him to become more aggressive. Certainly one of Mayweather's most challenging battles of his career was against Miguel Cotto last May possibly. Cotto, unlike numerous the others, found a way to stress Mayweather in to being more aggressive. It generated a spectacular fight. Warning: Video NSFW (language) Mayweather isn't covering. He revealed against Cotto that he could be hostile and still win. But there's no basis for him to blindly poke his leave from behind his gloves if he is dominating opponents. We should respect that since it really speaks to his great intelligence...which is an excellent thing, right?, if he chose not to choose the kill against Guerrero Are you aware the proportion of punches Guerrero landed against Mayweather? Try 19 per cent (113 of 581, via CompuBox). That is an astounding numbera'one that, frankly, must certanly be given a of applause, not a round of boos. Think about what you just seen, before you think about booing Mayweather as he cruises to another victory. That's, perhaps the closest thing to defensive excellence even as we have ever seen.
