Could Jon Jones Be on the Inaugural UFC on FOX Sports 1 Card?

Why not a light heavyweight title fight is during the works for your inaugural UFC on MONK Sports 1 card slated for August 17.

Jon Jones is featured with the latest promotional video with the soon-to-debut channel. Does that mean you will find there's possibility of it happening?

Jones is still rehabbing this injured toe. The only injury suffered during your partner's TKO victory and record-tying fifth-straight concept defense over Chael Sonnen with April 27. According to orthopedic surgeon Dr. Robert Klapper, the recovery time is approximately six-eight weeks.

That would set Jones at around middle of the to late June, about 8 weeks out from August 17. Obviously a shorter fight camp than normal, but the chance to be on national or satellite television may be alluring enough to the present light heavyweight king to consider it.

"I would adore to be on a MONK card, I would absolutely want to be on a SIBEL card, " Jones said recently, during the UFC 159 pre-fight press day. "I would have to learn how to work that out using Dana not getting any pay-per-view's and things like that. "

Maybe which can be an idea White would warm up to. Yes, Jones are probably the top pay-per-view draws to get UFC, so you could understand any hesitation to set him on free TV. However, he is becoming an immense national star with his Nike sponsorship and other major-brand interest on the horizon. Having him on a FOX Sports 1 or FOX card has to be great opportunity to draw far more interest from the relaxed fan.

White said recently that this FOX Sports 1 card is a "best television card we've possibly done. " The UFC president also hinted at a big main event for UFC's resume Boston.

"We're going to adopt a big hit in the chin on the pay-per-view because we're visiting put a pay-per-view battle on Fox Sports 1. It's going to a big fight. "

If an announcement is made of a light heavyweight identify fight, it would be music with the ears of Jones fan's—especially those who have only paid to observe him fight on pay-per-view. Jones said he'd jump at the opportunity to fight for them.

"A lot of people can't afford to be paying $60 for entertainment like this. I'm aware of that will. I'd love to fight for people people. I'd be privileged to. "

No announcements have been made on some of the fights for the UFC on FOX Sports 1 card account. The brand new FOX Sports 1 channel will begin its UFC programming for 3: 30 p. d. on August 17 and lead into the preliminary card, culminating while using the main card right right after.
