MARK Stein, dubbed the "Golden One" by Potters fans in the 1990s, will be guest of honour at today's game between Stoke and West Ham.
Stein is guaranteed a hero's welcome after coming to symbolise Stoke's early successes under Lou Macari during his first and most productive spell at the club between September 1991 and October 1993.
His rags-to-riches story – he initially arrived on loan from Oxford reserves – his pulsating work-rate and his explosive finishing all combined to make him the darling of the old Victoria Ground.

For it was Stein netting the only goal in the Autoglass Trophy final of 1992 against Stockport, and it was also Stein putting two goals past Peter Schmeichel in a first leg League Cup win over Manchester United.
