Lescott was a regular member of Roberto Mancini's team during their Premier League title-winning campaign in 2011-12 but has been unseated by Matija Nastasic in recent months. The 30-year-old, who combined John Terry at Euro 2012, was omitted of Roy Hodgson's squad to handle San Marino and Montenegro but received a after Michael Dawson and Rio Ferdinand withdrew from the team. "If you'd asked me this past year what my chances were of earning the World Cup [2014] squad then I had have explained, 'Yeah, fairly good,'" Lescott told reporters. "But that you do not know. If I can play more regularly at team level then I think I will be there. He added, "Towards the conclusion of the summer season, I'll handle that [situation at City]. But for now, I am fully centered on England and what England have to do." Lescott was confident that his insufficient playing time would not be described as a problem if he is selected to face Montenegro on Tuesday having accomplished 90 minutes against San Marino. "I have not been playing around I'd like obviously but I've confidence within my ability," he explained. "I haven't been wounded because I've not been playing and I feel sharp enough to adjust to anything they offer." Follow GOAL.COM on Twitter
