Casillas back training with the ball - Real Madrid

Just over a month after his injury, Iker Casillas continues to show that his recovery is on schedule. The Real Madrid captain went out onto the pitch 1 at Real Madrid's Football City on Thursday and completed a run and some ball exercises with rehabilitation physio, Carlos Lalin. In the rain, Casillas completed a day of training that started very early with specific rehabilitation exercises for his left hand, which he broke on 23rd January during the second leg of the Copa del Rey quarter-final against Valencia in Mestalla.

The Whites' captain was happy to play a role on Tuesday night in Barcelona. The goalkeeper, despite being out of action, accompanied the team to provide support in the Camp Nou in the second leg of the cup semi-final. The players and coaches appreciate Iker's gesture as he went to the team hotel before the match along with Jose Mourinho's available players. After the victory against Barcelona and winning a spot in the cup final, Mourinho and Casillas agreed that he would go to the press room at the Camp Nou to speak with the media, as team captain, about the happiness in the dressing after reaching the final.

Casillas, who could not play the match because of the injury to his left hand, returned to Madrid with the rest of the team with the unmistakable feeling of having been involved in the match in some way.
