Yankee Stadium to host second Chelsea friendly - Manchester City

Just 48 hours after the sold out game at St Louis Cardinals' Busch Stadium, the second part of this historic double header against the 2011/12 European champions will take place at 5.30pm EST.

Tickets to the first game between City and Chelsea in St Louis were all snapped up in a record time of just twenty minutes and the New York game is also expected to be popular.

Ferran Soriano, CEO of Manchester City Football Club said: "Since City's visit to the United States in 2010, our relationship with North American fans has continued to grow.

"We are enthusiastic believers in the development of soccer in the US and have seen first-hand the passion that North American supporters have for the beautiful game. We are delighted to bring City to their doorstep."

City have been continuously engaging with US supporters over the past few years, building new Manchester City soccer fields in some of the most deprived communities of New York, Miami, Los Angeles and Chicago, with another soon to open in Washington.

The first took place on July 22, 2012, with Chelsea FC and Paris Saint-Germain playing to a 1-1 draw in front of 38,202 fans. On August 8, 2012, Real Madrid defeated A.C. Milan, 5-1.

This tradition of top level football in the stadium carries on the sporting heritage from the original Yankees Stadium which hosted some of European football's most illustrious clubs, including Real Madrid, Barcelona and AC Milan.
