CHARLIE Adam says Stoke's Premier League survival depends on how they handle the mounting pressure after Saturday's defeat to Aston Villa left them in the thick of a relegation battle.
The Scotland international believes City will stay up, but accepts some people will question that after the 3-1 loss at the Britannia Stadium left them with one league win in 2013.
He said: "We are in the relegation scrap now. It's about characters, and we will see how good the character of the group is.

City are likely to need at least four points from their final six games to stay up, but they will be underdogs in their next game when Manchester United visit the Britannia next Sunday.
Adam added: "We are at home and if we can get our confidence up for the game, who knows? But it's going to be a tough match for us."
Adam said he could understand the frustration in the stands, adding: "At the end of the day they don't want to see the team where it is. As a group of players we don't want to be there. It's just not happening for us right now.
The £4m signing from Liverpool, who came on as a 77th-minute substitute, insisted the tension around the ground had not affected the players.
He explained: "You need to be able to handle the pressure. If you can't do that, it's difficult to be a footballer. But it's how we handle it in the next couple of weeks that matters now."
