Yaya Toure's new deal has provided Manchester City a lift, says Barry - Yahoo! Sports

The Ivorian midfielder recently signed a deal that may keep him at City until 2017, and Barry was pleased to see the 28-year-old extend his stay at the club. "When a player like him gets a new offer, it's a raise for everyone," Barry told reporters. "You do not wish to see players that way leaving. Others are wanted by you like him coming in. "When you may keep people like him for another four years, I am sure there will undoubtedly be others coming in, of the same degree, to join him." Roberto Mancini's men happen to be Wembley on Sunday due to their FA Cup semifinal against Chelsea, and Barry is convinced that whoever triumphs in that game will go on to lift the trophy against sometimes Wigan or Millwall. "It feels more like a final," Barry said. "This is the greater game of the 2 and if we will get through it this may be another FA Cup for all of us. "I am looking towards it. You wish to be playing huge games at this level of the period, as this is, once they offer the trophies." City get into the game on the back of victory over competing Manchester United at Old Trafford, and Barry says while his side was excited with the gain, there were still some misgivings following the fit. "To win at Old Trafford two years in a line sets a great standard for the club," Barry said. "The players were anxious to get three things and we'd have now been disappointed to obtain whatever else, a pull. "To gain for another year running is really a amazing experience, but there's some disappointment that we've not played like that more often. "Even ahead of the game kicked off, our participants were thinking that we expected there was a bit more at risk and the difference was a little bit closer." Follow GOAL.COM on Twitter
