Gareth Bale and Jan Vertonghen were in exceptional form as Tottenham came far from the Liberty Stadium with a massive gain. The myth concerning Tottenham's status as a one-man team seems to ultimately be over: they're, actually, composed of two men. Gareth Bale and Jan Vertonghen were in imperious kind as Tottenham powered past Swansea, with two excellent first-half goals giving them a victory on the League Cup members. Vertonghen's goals have been important for Tottenham whether he is been at centre-back or left-back, but the Belgian won a substantial purpose from open play to open the scoring at the Liberty Stadium. Taking the ball out of defence with a fine shift, he found Gareth Bale, who came back the favour with a ball over the top which found the extended run of the centre-back, and he held his composure to prod the ball past the advancing Michel Vorm and in to the place of the web. Swansea very nearly renewed parity briefly a while later, as his height was used by Michu to get above the Tottenham defense, but his concluding in the air isn't quite of the standard of this on the floor, and a decent cross wide was headed by him to miss out the opportunity. It had been to prove costly - shortly afterwards, Swansea were two goals behind. After Emmanuel Adebayor had missed a golden opportunity with a finish after being performed through, Tottenham scored again, and their second goal was better still than the first - with the Swansea defense fighting to clear their lines, a free ball was swept up by the advancing Vertonghen, who high level into midfield before finding Gareth Bale, who wasted almost no time in capturing the ball into the top part with a glorious finish to increase his side's advantage. Swansea were not at their finest, while did have opportunities to get back to the game. Dwight Tiendalli's mix found Nathan Dyer storming into the region, but the winger can only find the wood together with his header as the Tottenham support were found out in the air again. After half-time, Swansea increased, and sporadic chances were forced by them, although they may still not master Tottenham. Michu had another respectable chance when Spurs were found out from an instant free-kick, but Brad Friedel made sure the readers did not miss Hugo Lloris' existence by remaining tuned in to rush out of his target and refuse the chance. Fleetingly a short while later, yet another Tiendalli combination discovered yet another Swansea header, but Michu once more failed to hit the prospective. Tottenham seemed to have the game in check, but Swansea found a way back into the match via Michu - Spurs had not heeded the numerous warnings they'd received, and the Spaniard did not make the same mistake twice, driving a corner in off the article with a fine header. It was then Spurs' turn going to the post, though unfortunately for the readers it struck the outside of the wood. An unstoppable foray was launched by gareth Bale from midfield, driving through the center of the frequency before striking an early chance which caught Vorm off-guard, just for it to hit the post and operate free, with Swansea however only in the overall game. Spurs were now mostly content although a breakaway goal was almost snatched by them through Jermain Defoe, to relax, but Michel Vorm made an exemplary save yourself to keep his part in with a possibility of grabbing a position. In the long run, however, time simply went out for the Swans, with Spurs looking comfortable in keeping their lead to give a huge success to themselves. Follow @SBNationSoccer on Twitter
