The semifinals are just starting to take form at the 2013 National Invitation Tournament, with Maryland remaining a poor getaway to defeat Alabama. The Terrapins will now proceed to Ny, where they will perform either Virginia or Iowa. This is another sign of resilience from the group that has consistently displayed inconsistency. Maryland outlasted Alabama with a report of 58-57. They shot 50.0 percent from the area and 46.7 percent from beyond the arc, thus establishing what might look like a great offensive effort. With that being mentioned, the Terrapins also shot 50.0 % from the free throw line and committed 17 turnovers. This is the third straight game where Maryland has fought looking after the ball. They are calculating 15.0 turnovers through the NIT and 14.8 for the summer season. They rank 336th in turnovers determined so far in 2012-13. Even still, the Terrapins are finding a way to win. Elite is paired by them rebounding with quality security, hence ultimately causing their current status in the NIT semifinals. The question is, how much can they opt for these form of performances? The Alex Len Factor Streeter Lecka/Getty Photographs During Maryland's make an impression on Alabama, Alex Len was incredible. He finished with five blocks, 13 boards, two helps and 15 items. That uses two successive trips by which Len didn't top ten points or five boards. As his first class talent has been on display on a much too inconsistent basis, this has been the tale with Len. Whether Maryland pulls Virginia or Iowa, that will not be appropriate. Len has to rule as his capacity suggests he is able to. During Maryland's past nine losses, Len is calculating 9.6 points per game. Why the Terrapins need Len to intensify, as his production is usually living of these putrid offense this is. Maryland's make an impression on Alabama was proof that truth. Can They Hold Shooting? Streeter Lecka/Getty Photographs For the growing season, Maryland is capturing 33.6 per cent from beyond the arc. To date in the NIT, they are firing 38.3 percent from range. The question is, can they carry on firing at such a high clip? It is likely that, the Terrapins will cool down at some time with this tournament. They've been warm against Niagara and Alabama, but 3-of-12 three-pointers were made just by them against Denver. When they capture that poorly against Iowa or Virginia, Maryland will be on the outside looking in come the NIT Finals. This is simply not to promote Maryland's attempts brief, because the ability is set up to allow them to get it all. Dezmine Wells is a genuine star in the ACC, Maryland boards in addition to any group and Len's active capabilities have already been accepted. Unless they lessen turnovers and become a more consistent bad staff, however, the Terrapins will not reach the Finals. The force is on.
