Newcastle lost at St James' Park to Sunderland for the first time for almost 13 years and Pardew admitted that the defeat has hurt the whole club.
The defeat closes the gap between Newcastle and Sunderland to two-points and both sides have five games remaining in the Premier Leagues season.
Neither Newcastle or Sunderland are mathematically safe from relegation and after the defeat to Sunderland, Pardew said that his side must ensure they get over the defeat quickly.
Newcastle United next face West Brom at The Hawthorns but will be without goalkeeper Tim Krul for the remainder of the campaign after Krul dislocated his shoulder in the match with Sunderland.
