Dejagah's first Fulham year profitable - Teamtalk.com

Thursday 16th April 2013 11:15 Ashkan Dejagah: Among Fulham's star men A10 totally free bet Fulham FanZoner Robert Hopping sings the praises of Ashkan Dejagah, the Iran winger who's enjoyed a superb introduction campaign at Craven Cottage. It quietly slipped under the radar the other day - the headlines that Ashkan Dejagah is going to be out for the others of the season with a ruptured foot ligament following his collision with a marketing board in Fulham's 3-2 home victory over QPR. Without as popular outside SW6 as probably people of the ilk of Dimitar Berbatov or Brede Hangeland, Dejagah is a huge very important person this season and is going to be missed sorely by Fulham fans and the staff alike. Dejagah was signed by Martin Jol on transfer contract time last summer for an undisclosed price from Wolfsburg, where he'd spent the prior five months and had made more than 150 first team shows. He won a Bundesliga title while there and became a significant person in the team. He also displayed Germany's Under-21s, (which is no mean task) but chose rather to represent Iran at full international level, where he scored both goals in February 2012 against Qatar in a 2-2 draw in a World Cup qualifier. As the aforementioned Berbatov has rightly taken a lot of plaudits in 2013 as a result of his 13 goals and general link-up play, Dejagah has been steadily investing in decent game after decent game. He is difficult together with his legs and isn't afraid to run at the resistance and go past them. Combining effectively with full-back Sascha Riether down the right flank (as they also did for Wolfsburg), Dejagah has passed and jinked his way past is always a good outlet and several a League midfield if the defence is under some pressure. Dejagah has yet to join up a goal for Fulham and this is actually the only mark against an impressive first season in English soccer. Yet with one assist, 18 'key' passes and an 81% move completion rate, next season promises much. He has made 24 first-team appearances and it is a credit to his activities that Jol, when speaking about Dejagah's injury, stated: "It is frustrating. You have to deal with the Premier League when you arrive at England and that's what he did... we needed his pace and his capacity on the ball. He was man-of-the-match a few times." A thought is going to Dejagah, when it comes to choosing the Fulham player of the season. Berbatov has demonstrably been sublime on occasions and Mark Schwarzer has been his excellent and game-saving self, but something a little different is offered by Dejagah. His constantly exciting and attack-minded activities have endeared him to all at Craven Cottage and the club will be more than pleased to cheer him on come the start of next time.
