The 2013 Major League Baseball period is eventually underway, and the Seattle Mariners have one line under their belt. In the initial two activities of the opening set with the Oakland Athletics, the Mariners appeared as if the hot group of 2013. In the second 50% of the line, supporters were advised why this group has fought during the last few months. It's obviously difficult to make a long judgment on a team after one line, but there are a few items that immediately stick out concerning this group. While others are reasons for concern, some results from the collection were positive. This group might seem completely different after a month of play, but here are five classes from the beginning line between the Mariners and the Aas. Michael Morse Is Pleased to Be Right back Thearon W. Henderson/Getty Photos When Michael Morse was traded back to the Seattle Mariners, he suggested that he was aglad to be back homea (via The Seattle Times). Seemingly, he wasnat joking. Morse has undoubtedly started in 2013 with a bang. After having a very stable spring, Morse was a power at the plate from the Aas. A.375 average. Four home runs. Six RBI. 18 total bases. A percentage of 1.125 for the line. Pleasant house, Mr. Morse. This really is what Seattle hoped for once they traded for Morse, and fans are hoping that he continues to power the collection. If other hitters get going and Morse maintains striking, this can actually be a potent offense. Some Time May be Taken by the Pitching Jason O. Watson/Getty Photos Brandon Maurer was prominent in spring training. That dominance didn't continue in the final game of the collection, because the rookie pitcher was roughed up for six runs on eight hits in six innings on April 4. The night before, Joe Saunders was not far better as the pitcher only lasted four innings. He and Jesus Montero didnat always appear to be on the same site. Obviously, Saunders is still very new, and a connection along with his catcher will probably take some time. Felix Hernandez and Hisashi Iwakuma looked great in the first two activities of the collection, but the back-end of the turn may not be quite as powerful. It'll be interesting to see if a comfort zone is found by Saunders and Maurer can shake off his bad start and regain the sway from spring training. Maybe it's an extremely long year, if King Felix and Iwakuma will be the only strong pitchers in the turning. Probably, Blake Beavan could right the ship from the Chicago White Sox on April 5. The Array Is Hot and Cold Thearon W. Henderson/Getty Photographs As stated, Michael Morse is off to a really hot start with the Mariners. In addition to Morse, Franklin Gutierrez also had an excellent series against the Aas. The oft-injured center fielder batted.333 with four hits in 12 at-bats. Also Brendan Ryan is striking.286 with a.500 on-base percentage. Then you can find the struggling players. Dustin Ackley and Kendrys Morales have both began 1-for-12 and are reaching.083 after four games. Justin Smoak isnat doing much better with two hits in 14 at-bats for a.143 average. Will all of this even out eventually? Probably. Morales, specially, will hopefully look for a groove soon. Ackley and Smoak may be another problem, and management will probably keep a detailed eye on their progress. If there is likely to be experienced offensive production balance will be needed by this team. This May Be the Final Earning Proportion Kelley D Cox-USA TODAY Activities Again, it's early. The football season is quite long, and there are lots of activities left to be played in 2013. However, the result of this series may be a survey for the rest of the year. The Mariners might be better this season, but an 81-81 record is not out of the problem. Seattle made a number of changes during the offseason, but a successful season will depend on a number of people stepping up and playing better than they did in 2012. Otherwise, this collection may struggle for still another year. It'll be interesting to see if they get home to Safeco Field how the Mariners do. In 2012, Seattle didnat just have a home-field advantage when it was playing in the Emerald City. Perhaps, which will change in 2013. There's Reason for Optimism Ezra Shaw/Getty Images The 6-2 and 8-2 losses were harder to view after the Mariners looked so strong inside their 2-0 and 7-1 victories. But, there are always a large amount of factors to be optimistic about any of it group. Felix Hernandez is one of many best pitchers in baseball. The Mariners have several hitters that may get this to a much-improved choice. The minor league system is displayed with a of pitching talent. The Mariners are due. Probably. After one line, it is hard to know whether this is actually the year where anything starts coming together. There are statistical methods of a, and then there is the overall vibe a team tasks. So far, this team has the look of a team that might be increasing. The Mariners might not challenge for the department, but there is certainly cause for confidence. Some people may be surprised by this team in 2013. Start Slideshow Props (0) What's the repeat article? Exactly why is this short article offensive? Where's this article plagiarized from?
